What is Change Management?
Changes are an inevitable part of life.
Coming to an Organization Changes might happen frequently and chances of Changes are highly probable. There are so many types of changes that could happen in an organization like Changes in Organizational structure, Process changes, changes in Business Strategies, Changes in Technology, Changes in organizational culture, and sometimes there is a possibility of handing over of business to some other organization.
How can we adopt the Change effectively using the ADKAR Model?
First of all, Let us see, the ADKAR Model.
We can Abbreviate ADKAR as Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability & Reinforcement.
Awareness:
Awareness is about communicating the necessity of Change and its importance for organizational growth.
Clearly explaining Why this change is needed?
Desire:
Everyone in the organization would come to know the Change and its importance, but the actual scenario is to express the willingness towards the change and accept it fruitfully.
Making the team understand the benefits of the change.
Knowledge:
After the successful completion of A&D, it's time to provide training on how to implement and handle the change at an organizational level.
We can achieve this by providing the OJT, Videos, Training sessions, and creating knowledge base documents, etc. Knowledge building should go beyond expediting the change.
Ability:
Here the ability to perform the changes in the organization talks about the capabilities of an individual in the organization to implement the changes on a day-to-day basis.
Reinforcement:
The important phase in the ADKAR Model is Reinforcement. The process of sustaining the changes is called as reinforcement process in ADKAR. To make this process effective we can establish the feedback mechanisms to address the issues and refine the changes towards the process as well.
Yea! Let us meet later with some other topic or methodology to improve the process.
Thank you!
